L'armée turque considère l'homosexualité comme un désordre mental et réforme les jeunes hommes gays du service militaire, mais exige également un diagnostic médical psychologique et des procédures humiliantes. Çürük (Pourris) raconte les histoires de plusieurs hommes homosexuels, qui ont fait divers choix : certains ont préféré nier leur homosexualité engendrant ainsi souffrances et graves traumatismes, d’autres ont fait leur coming out, et enfin certains ont choisi de s'installer à Berlin. Ce documentaire expose l’un des plus grands tabous de Turquie en recueillant les récits de ces jeunes hommes obligés de cacher leurs visages par manque de liberté d'expression. La réalisatrice a filmé leurs mains, ou des détails de leurs corps afin de symboliser la détresse intérieure de ces sans visage qui n’ont pas la possibilité de révéler leur véritable identité.
