A propos du film :

En 1979, des citoyens américains sont pris en otage à l'ambassade des Etats-Unis à Téhéran. La même nuit, à Los Angeles, Houshang, un jeune immigré iranien qui travaille dans le magasin de son oncle, est en discothèque. Tenté par l'argent facile et les paillettes du disco, il aspire à devenir gérant de boîte de nuit. En quête de capitaux pour se lancer, il se heurte au scepticisme de son entourage. Son ami, Parviz, est venu aux Etats-Unis pour étudier la médecine mais ses ambitions sont mises à rude épreuve. Il se voit contraint de travailler comme chauffeur de taxi. Pour Bahman, arrivé récemment d'Iran où son père a été assassiné, il n'est pas question d'y remettre les pieds. Il veut se faire une place sous le soleil de Californie.
