Nat Dayan, un vieux boulanger juif de l’East End de Londres, s’efforce de maintenir l’activité de sa boutique face aux velléités d’un supermarché voisin, qui va jusqu’à lui « voler » son employé. Sans grand enthousiasme, il embauche comme apprenti un jeune immigré musulman originaire du Darfour, accessoirement dealer de cannabis. Leur relation n’est pas de tout repos jusqu’au jour où un incident fortuit va relancer les ventes... Une comédie à la Ken Loach, qui nous parle d’amitié, de loyauté et de muffins magiques...
