Le prince Don Ramiro doit se marier. On organise un grand bal afin qu’il rencontre les jeunes filles du royaume. Une occasion parfaite pour Don Magnifico qui souhaite vivement que le prince épouse l’une de ses deux filles. Celles-ci se rendent à la cour et se présentent devant le prince. Mais celui-ci a échangé son costume avec Dandini son valet…. Durant le bal, Don Ramiro aperçoit la belle Angelina (dit la Cenerentola) métamorphosée, et tombe sous son charme. Son choix est fait et il l’a demande en mariage. Elle fuit précipitamment le prince, tout en lui laissant un indice pour la retrouver. Celui-ci ne tarde pas à la rejoindre et, réunis, ils vécurent heureux.
