Le monde moderne avale chaque jour un peu plus ses terres, ses bêtes et celles de ses voisins. Comme elle, Jean, Christiane, Jean-Clément, Raymond, Mathilde et tous les autres résistent et luttent au quotidien pour préserver leurs biens... leur vie.
