Sara, 13 ans, devient amie avec Benny, 16 ans, lors d’un jeu en ligne. Jamais elle ne se doute que "Benny" est en fait un père de famille de quarante ans environ, Simon Keller, un professeur dévoué qui donne des cours sur les médias. Alors que Sara se sent totalement incomprise par ses parents et sa meilleure amie Leonie, le sensible Keller, alias Benny, parvient rapidement à gagner sa confiance. Il vient d’ailleurs à son aide lorsque celle-ci, tombant amoureuse de Kevin, 17 ans, rencontré sur internet, la fait chanter au sujet d’une photo d’elle nue.Et alors que la division criminelle de Stuttgart suit les activités illégales de Kevin, Keller n’est pas en mesure d’empêcher Sara d’endurer une terrible expérience, tout comme les inspecteurs, dans l’incapacité d’empêcher la catastrophe imminente...
