Quel n'est pas son étonnement lorsque Chandler Jarrell apprend qu'il doit retrouver un jeune garçon tibétain, surnommé "l'enfant sacré" en raison de ses pouvoirs magiques. Ce modeste policier noir de Los Angeles ne croit absolument pas à ces histoires à dormir debout. Il commence cependant son enquête et découvre qu'un sinistre sataniste, Sardo Numspa, a kidnappé l'enfant censé apporté miséricorde et harmonie. Petit à petit, Chandler commence à croire en cette histoire : d'ailleurs, c'est bien Kee Nang, une ravissante tibétaine, débarquée à Los Angeles, qui le désigne comme l'Elu, soit celui qui sauvera l'enfant sacré. Ils se rendent alors au Tibet où se trouve la victime...
