Matti, inspecteur de police, Erkki, photographe, et Rauno, acteur, tous trois âgés de 51 ans, sont amis d'enfance et ne se sont pas vu depuis très longtemps. Ils se rencontrent par hasard à Helsinki la veille de Noël et passent la nuit ensemble dans un karaoké.
