Quand le basketteur américain Kevin Sheppard accepte de jouer dans un des pays les plus craints du monde, l'Iran, il s'attend au pire. Mais ce qu'il y trouve est un pays débordant de générosité, de chaleur, et de sensualité. Sa personnalité charismatique séduit tous ceux qu'il rencontre, Kevin noue une amitié inattendue avec trois femmes iraniennes qui ne mâchent pas leurs mots pour exprimer leurs opinions affirmées, de la politique à la religion en passant par la place de la femme dans la société. La saison de Kevin en Iran dépasse finalement le cadre du basketball avec le soulèvement puis la suppression du « Mouvement Vert » prélude aux changements radicaux qui se préparent au travers du Moyen-Orient à l'aube du Printemps Arabe.
